My name is Carol. I’ve never been much of an artist, or craftsperson, but in late 2008 I became intrigued with the idea of creating handmade jewelry. I purchased a number of books and magazines on the subject and read each one in earnest. I then signed up for jewelry making workshops offered at my local bead store and nearby bead conventions. The books and workshops have all been tremendously helpful in my learning process, and they’ve succeeded in getting me hooked on crafting handmade jewelry.
Just FYI..... I don't update my photos or info on Bead-Space any longer. You can find me and hear more of what I'm up to on the Ning network. I'm also on Twitter.... my name is BeadsNWire.

As always so very nice to hear from you - this is a healing summer for us - Steve will have his next surgery (hip replacement) in less than 2 weeks - so no mc riding for us - he's now retired & we are doing stuff around the house for now & beading some when we can - have a great day! hugs, Michel
Hi Carol, so very nice to hear from you! I've been back in the hospital again with more nfections and another surgery. They just released me once again yesterday evening. I hope that I can be home for atleast a short while before I have to go back in for another surgery again. I know that I'll be having another one in 4-8 weeks. So, I'd love to just be home for those weeks in between. But I try my best to keep a positive attitude, yep, I think I do. lol
Wow Carol, I feel and believe that you're bead work is awesome! In these next years I can't even imagine where your bead work will be! You're very talenetd and all of your pieces are gorgeous! I wish I could only bead as well as you do! Don't under estimate yourself Carol, honestly, your bead work is fantastic and something to be very proud of!
Boy do I know that sound of a Mac...aww mucsic to my ears! My mother had one and she just loved it and my oldest son has one and he loves it. here I am with this crazy, mind of it's own machine that I argue and carry on with daily. One day though, a new Mac it will be!
I had ordered some new things for me to try, I'm not sure yet if I'm able to bead because of my surgery but I'm going to give it my best shot. I'm trying to teach myself how to bead a cabochon and bead embroidery. It's just something I think is beautiful and want to make a attempt at. If you have any advise I'd sure be opened to it and love to hear it! Especially coming from you I know that you would point me in the right direction that I need to be taking. Thanks so much! I do hope that you have a great rest of your day! It's friday so I hope that your weekend is a wonderful one for you!
Hugs and happy beading...

Bobbi!!
I had no idea you were dealing w/health issues and that you were hospitalized as a result!! I haven't been able to get on to this site for some reason for a LOOOOONG time. I thought the site went kaput again, and so that is why I spend my time on Ning.
I am with you on wishing I had started beading earlier in life. I LOVE it, but I do recognize that it requires lots of practice. I wish I already had all that practice under my belt b/c I'd love nothing more than to be an AWESOME beader. I know that it takes many years of experience to get to the level of beading that I aspire to. I've never done any crafts in my life, so I've got a long way to go.
As for the computer.... I am totally over and done w/MS Windows. I wanted to throw my last computer over a bridge, lol.... it drove me positively INSANE! I NEVER thought I'd switch to a Mac, but I decided to take a chance, and lemme tell ya... once you go Mac, you'll NEVER go back!! I LOOOOOVE my new computer!! I hope you get your 'puter issues ironed out. It's so frustrating when the darn thing takes on a mind of it's own... I know that all too well.
Anyhoo.... please know that I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for good health. Take care and bead happy!!
