What I'm doing right now: I am delighted with finishing the bracelet and seriously considering starting a choker to go wtih it.

I enjoy creating jewellery with fresh water pearls and semi-precious gemstones but I love playing with miyuki and delica seed beads.

I quit smoking about 15 years ago and have found that I have a very low tolerance for boredom! Now, I will keep about 5 different projects on the go, so that when I get bored with one, I can switch to another.. and never get bored with the craft! I will have a loom on the go with a woven project with delica beads and another with miyuki beads, a peyote project on the go with delica beads and another with miyuki and a few project trays for stringing - in a holding pattern until inspiration strikes.

I'm hooked on the 'oldies' so when I am not doing beadwork for relaxation, I am listening to Abba, the Beach Boys, and all the other music of my youth.

I used to be a voracious reader but now my ability to concentrate on the printed word has diminished. I still love books so have been blessed with finding my local library online has audio books to download. Now, I will sit and bead and listen to a book at the same time.

Sadly, this also involves some ripping when one gets more attention than the other.

All my favourite bead stores are found online with JNS Beads and MiyukiGal on Ebay. I have been very happy with both the prices charged and quality of beads received.

I love being creative. It doesn't matter whether the medium is with Plaster of Paris and paint, yarn and weaving or crochet, exotic woods and creating fine wood boxes.

I have always been an active political activist and have been involved in the system from the municipal level to the federal level. My grandmother worked hard so that I would have the ability to vote and I have never squandered that vote. I believe that if you want something done your way, you have to do it yourself so I have been busy doing it myself until my energy resources were depleted to the point where I had to pick my fights very carefully.

Today, instead of getting out there and doing the job, I pull up a soap box and do a lot of ranting at home!

I really have a very low tolerance for boredom!

And I really hate stupidity! It doesn't matter if that stupidity, arrogance and power-tripping is done in Ottawa, in DC or at the border, I'll get my knickers all tightly bunched and it will take at least a week of beading to settle me down.

I am a polio survivor from one of the epidemics in Toronto. I only spent one week in Toronto Sick Children's Hospital, although it took me a year to recover. I am now suffering from the effects of Post-Polio Syndrome and am forced to take it a little easier on activities. I suffer from a great deal of fatigue, but the sedentary enjoyment of beadwork satisfies my creative side without destroying me physically.

My three sons are my finest creations, three young men who have matured to become my greatest joy and staunchest supporters.

Hi - thanks for your kind words about our beadwork - it's something we enjoy doing - go to www.auntiesbeads.com - and check out their learning center and view these two videos - Flat Spiral bracelet and RAW bracelet with embellishments - these are 2 of the techniques we've used in making some of our bracelets - hugs, Michel & Steve
