Grandmother, what are you seeing
When you stand there so still
Looking into the distance
Where the grass is so tall
Are you remembering the past?
Tell me what you see.
Times of long ago,
Memories still clear in my mind
Happy times and sad times
The memories of our past
Grandmother, what are you feeling
When you stand ther so tall and straight
Looking at the mountains
Snow capped and growing cold
Are you feeling the past?
Tell me what you feel.
Happy times of shareing
Growing close to old and young
Learning the secrets of our way
It warms my heart and soul
Grandmother, why are you crying
Standing on the hill
Looking over the land
Please tell me why.
The changes that have taken place
The land that is not ours
The memories and the feelings
That I don’t ever want to change.
I want to thank my Big Sister Nativevision for giving me the inspiration to write this poem, for without her painting i would never have been able to write this.

Hello to all, I just wanted to share some of the poetry that I write. It is now spring and a time of rebirth for all the plants and trees. So I thought why not share some of my talent with my extended here at Bead Space.
Night Calls
As I sit in the dark
Listening to the sounds.
I hear the calls of long ago
Of what lived before.
I hear the gentle lowing
Of Bison big and strong.
The call of Hawk and Eagle
As they soar above us all
The Night sounds are amazing
As i close my eyes I see.
The many spirits of long ago
Have come to sing to me.
The Bison they are grazing
The Hawk call to his mate
The mighty Eagle soaring
On wings above the earth
I’ve asked myself a hundred times
Why do I see and hear
The spirits of so long ago
Why do they come to me?
The mighty Wolf is howling
At the moon so big and bright
It’s almost as if he’s saying
Come and play with me tonight
MOTHER EARTH
When I close my eyes
When I lean back
Laying on mother earth
I feel her warmth
And her love
For all who roam the earth
It’s not just in the beauty
The plants and trees so tall
The fields with all their flowers
The night sky with her stars
It’s not the breezes blowing
The clouds float gently by
It’s not that warming feeling
Of sunshine on your face
It’s not in the seeing
Of beauty all around
But of a deeper feeling
That comes from all around
So open up your senses
Not just your eyes and ears
And listen with your inner self
So you can feel , see and hear
What mother earth is sending out
To all who llove this land
I hope you enjoyed reading these and will leave a comment os to what you think and what you felt when you read them

To all my friends here at bead space, I just wanted to let you know how I feel. Without all your support, guidance, kind words & incouragement I have grown in my beading and learned how to do new things that I never would have been able to do without you all. Some of you ( you know who you are ) have extended that friendship further by giving encourageing comments and advice, taking the time to teach me new technics that I never would have tried on my own,& answering some pretty dumb questions when I got stuck. So to all of you a big Thank You goes out. Yes I know that this site was set up not only to share our work with others, but to help each other grow in our craft & to help each other. I am grateful to whoever sent me the invite to join cause without you I probably would have givin up beading.
I am now looking forward to creating many more beautiful items to share & to keep learning the technics that were taught to me. This site is a blessing in disguise not only to me but to all who come here because without everyone here there would be no beadspace.
Again my deepest and Heartfelt THANK YOU

Well I got out of work early today as grooming is slow this time of year so I decided to head out to the beach in search of that elusive thing called Sea Glass. The weather was better, mid 50’s with a slight wind and the ocean was calm for this time of year. I decided to walk along the waters edge keeping one eye on the waves and guess what. I found that elusive piece of Sea Glass, my first one ever, it is a nice size for a focal piece was clear at one point I think, as it is kind of opaque looking and it has almost a tear drop shape, now to figure out how to put something together to do it justice. Now I can’t wait to get to the beach again. stay tuned tor more of the beach saga.
have a great day & thanks for reading this

I went to the beach yesterday to look for sea glass and shells. It wasn’t that great as it was only in the low 40’s and very windy. As U set off I noticed that there were fewer shells in the areas that always yielded the most shells. I did find about 1/2 a cup full of small spirial shells and boy was I impressed as I found 3 small sand dollars (very rare find in New Jeresy) but no sea glass. I also found some larger shells and pieces of large shells that can be used as focal pieces. Now only if my creative juices would flow in that direction (thought that going to the beach would help) but no such luck.At least I have a start with my shell collection & can’t wait for slightly warmer weather to go hunting again, who knows mabey tha next trip will yield better results.
Untill next time.
happy spring beading

gonna get ready to start beading again as we are expecting a major snow storm. I’ll have plenty of time to get some ideas into shape and create some new pieces
